Swoon.

Think I'm a little bit in love with this find. Thank you Frankie Magazine :).

Early to uni. A free litre of Mildura Citrus Burst -a refreshing twist of orange & lemon. Lunch with Aline in the Great Court. Convincing Becky and friend, Joel to migrate over to our tree :). UQ Art Gallery visit. Japan Job Hunting. COMU2233 lecture. (Intensity: Overwhelming. Sitting in the third row with Felicia did nothing to prevent my head from nodding off...;O). Searching for a place to study, and stumbling across an empty two-seater table between the Schonell Theatre and the Pizza Cafe, in perfect earshot of a wonderfully talented pianist. I think I need a live pianist every time I hit the books now. The spontaneity and anticipation of the music certainly maintains the liveliness and activity of my cranium :). I've decided I shall never study in the library again... I'm too prone to falling a s l e e p mid-reading. And with no one around to witness..I don't really care. But I do..when I realise how much time I've wasted. SO. If I study in an open, public space, I will be less likely to succumb to slumber and be fueled by an 'audience', somewhat -to keep on keepin' on. THE WORKLOAD THIS SEMESTER IS SO, SO INTENSE! Especially for Chinese! Erk.

Speaking of which...Time to get back to it;

So for now, sayonara! <3

meditation.

Well hey there Dearest EM,

And hasn't it been a while?

Well, I suppose I have been quite busy in the past month or so, working, catching up with friends, trying new things, making new friends, doing old things and thinking and wondering and drawing and writing all on the in between. Then uni began. It's no excuse, really -as I was reminded in my Journalism lecture today. I'm an aspiring writer..si? So the least I should do is write...daily, perhaps -and in doing so somewhat maintain the spirit of the 'of the day' part of the blog. Eek.

Ahh, life. But amongst the hustle and bustle we must also make time for q u i e t.

Meditation. I want to elaborate more on this but I'm afraid my dad has the link. But for the past two nights he's been introducing this ancient practise to us, and we've been just chilling, just simply being in the moment...for about ten minutes each night.

It's not the first time I've had a go at this, but after you get over the initial silence...the realisation that you can simply just switch off  -no phone, no computer, no internet, facebook, televison, it really is something.

And suddenly amidst the distractions -the buzz, the noise, the busyness and stress of daily life, you'll find that focus. That...presence. That acquaintance and appreciation of merely just being that is so foreign to people of the modern day.n

This morning I had to catch a slow train to uni. And for once, I didn't feed my ears with my music. Rather, I left it idle in my bag and became once more accustomed to the cheery morning exchange of conversation at the trainstation, the steady clack-clacking of the train tracks, the rushed yells of school students I'd appeared to so quickly have forgotten. And as I stared out the thick glass pane, I let my mind take a leisurely wander. 'Cause when your mind isn't cluttered with distraction...you'll realise you notice things. The little things. And for me, it's what makes a day all the more worthwhile. For we cannot ever be certain of what is to come, so  hold on to the little things, the good things, and count your blessings.

V is for...

VALENTINE <3.

Despite this day having become, like Easter and Christmas, quite commercialised; it's true meaning and origin clouded, a Happy Valentine's Day for..half an hour ago my friends ^^". Because really, who doesn't love love!?
I must say though, flicking through the pages of MX last week, this quote made me smile:
"I hate Valentine's Day... On Valentine's Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating, and 364 days of love"
-Ashton Kutcher

I mean, although I do not believe in hate, I do believe that EVERY day should be a day of love. Yeah yeah, fetch your buckets, but somebody's lyrics in their personal message on msn today made me realise just how important it is to not only love or be loved, but to know it. You can never say or hear it too often, right!? ;D

So tell that someone that you love just what you're thinking of, if tomorrow never comes.

Stop. Motion.

Okay..so I started this yesterday and didn't quite finish :P

So it's the Eve of Chinese New Year, and who should be dining at my humble residence aside from the Campbell's and Mr & Mrs Loi?

After an epic feast of amazing food. But mostly just satays, um, satays, and more satays, (a kebab-esque traditional Malaysian chicken-threaded-through-a-skewer-bunged-on-the-barbie, served with peanut sauce.)

The Gazzness showed us his latest hobby: stop motion videos!
Armed with a laptop, webcam and a program (I forgot the name, sorry, but will update soon as I know ;) ) He demonstrated the kids the basic how-tos.
Shall upload Gabrielle's soon as I receive it.. :P

But just like in the world of TV cooking and such, here's some he prepared earlier:

Crazy eyes

Fox | MySpace Video

Go check out his latest, Tomato Attack on his myspace and while you're there do pop on your headphones and give his music a whirl :L.

After his little lesson though, my appreciation for stop motion has simply skyrocketed, and my admiration for the time and effort involved is just...wow.
Here's some that I particularly enjoyed ~_~..in order of production..
(Click for youtube linkage!)

Oren Lavie -Her Morning Elegance
Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
Target ad: Every Colour You can Dream Of

And I must say I am quite a fan of these ones by PES, so so clever and creative!

and:

Amazing, yes?

And who can forget the five minute fillers on ABC Kids!? ie: The Trapdoor, Plonsters, Gogs and such? Oh claymation how I love thee. Heheh.

04:04

He called me last night.
Technically, this morning at 4:04 am.

I wondered what he wanted to say. I wondered all day.
In fact..when have I actually NOT wondered about anything to do with...him

Should I ring back, or perhaps sms... but;
asmuchasi'dliketosomethingholdsmeback.
Call it intuition. Call it a gut feeling. Call it..Fear.
What you never know won't hurt you, will it?
And ignorance, bliss?
But I guess I'd rather confront whatever knowledge I'm needing to be confirmed. By him. Because he's who I trust. He's who I believe in.
Every. Time.
Even though...I only get hurt.
Call it naivety. Call it stupidity. Call it..Love.
All I know is, the sooner the better.
If he has something so important to say, he'll call again, yes?
It can't be true though..can it?
Honesty? Policy?
He said it would never..that he would never...

But. He said a lot of things.

Escape.

It's one of my re l e  a  s e  s

ie: On a Monday at work... yes, it was that quiet ;O!

drawn on 1/4 A4 sized scrap paper in black biro.

closer; cropped. That's a bird by the way, yes -in case there was some confusion. =/
...
Tonight, I attempted to draw her on a somewhat larger scale,  in my A4 sketch pad...
I quite like how her hair turned out, especially the right ends.
Definitely need to fix the hands, amongst many others, though -eep!

Click to enlarge if you dare; and please do not hesitate to critque!
